Duboce Bikeway Mural
A 6000 square foot mural celebrating the adjacent bikeway, which was the first street segment in San Francisco to be converted into a bicycle path. The painting describes a bicyclists' route crossing San Francisco from Bay to ocean, mentioning alternative transportation activists and movements along the way.
The route goes East to West: it starts downtown, passes by this very mural, and continues along a zig-zag route called “the Wiggle,” which is symbolically represented as the waterway it once was. The Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and Golden Gate park follow, and the ride ends at Ocean Beach.
