Taking Root: on land once ravaged by industry, a new community is sprouting...
San Francisco artist Mona Caron creates a 7 story tall mural featuring the first tiny wildflower that made it back to a barren piece of land in Union City, California, after its rehabilitation from industrial pollution. At the roots of the wildflower, a symbol of resilience, the new residents collaborate with the artist to add welcoming phrases in their native languages, and to brainstorm ideas for a future vision of their still raw new neighborhood.
